One of the things that comes with having children of school going age is projects and orals and the dreaded homework.
When I was at school we used to go to the library to research projects and orals. I remember my mom photo copying pages and pages for us to take home to use. With the arrival of the internet the trips to the library are less and less but it is also not as simple as searching “facts about Jupiter” because you end up with a trillion search results and not all of them are written in a way that a child can easily read so I end up finding suitable info and then the kids will read it and do the work. It is a pain and time consuming.

Mmm…the Encyclopedia sounds great, but I would rather chew off my own leg than do business with Telkom ever again. So I am definitely NOT a fan.
Luckily we’re not at school project age yet, so I can’t really say how we would go about doing it yet. 😉
Interwebz – best thing evar!
I don’t have a Telkom line at the moment. I used to have one and then the cables got stolen. Don’t think I’ll go back to them but this does look like quite a nice product. Must check what this or something similar will cost. I send Child2 to the library, usually with instructions but sometimes I don’t even need to provide him with guidelines. I want him to find books and collect and summarise facts etc because I do believe that this is a life skill. We do occasionally use the internet for projects if the books are not clear enough on the subject or if he remembers that he has a project like the night before it is due!
Mine are all grown now, but this does sound fabulous to use!
