I am joining up again this week with Life’s Beautiful Moments blog hop 🙂
I can’t think of a “theme” this week so you are getting a bit of randomness.
- This week has chewed me up and spit me out a little broken – I can’t seem to gain control.
- Half of the wedding invites are done 100% – they will be handed out at David’s birthday. Rest will be done on Sunday.
- My washing machine was collected yesterday – holding thumbs it is returned today.
- Jack actually can not get cuter – I am loving spending my mornings with him.
- Kiara hates her therapy – it is apparently boring. She hates most of her exercises so we fight to get homework done and then fight for that as well. It is tiring.
- Cameron is not enjoying Grade 5 – the work is not hard but he just can’t seem to find his groove. These blue books they have to work with though are crap – I hate them and so do the kids.
- Cameron was invited to a paintball party next weekend. I am somewhat anti but can’t really say he can’t go can I? He is so excited.
- I got Jamie Olivers 15 minute meals recipe book for Christmas and the recipes are easy and look yum but most of them involve ingredients we don’t normally keep in the house. Does anyone else have this book? What have you made?
- I went to gym yesterday and it felt like I hadn’t been there for weeks – I barely managed to cycle 15 minutes – I can normally do 30 minutes on my cardio days.
- Yesterday a mom was telling us about her son who had his jaw cracked by a fellow pupil at their school. They are NINE years old. She isn’t sure of the story – her son said he did nothing and the kid just came up to him. Her child has a history of being bullied though 🙁 The mom of the child who did it is big friends with the principal so nothing has been done about it. This was at a private school. She is taking her kid out – it is the last straw – she has battled for 4 years with similar issues.
- I am over this heat now. You can’t do anything. It is horrid.
- There has been a number on the scale that has been haunting me for months now – actually possible over a year – well I have broken it – ok just broken it but still. I am hoping I can get a kg or 2 away from it 🙂
What’s happening with you this week?

I have Jamie’s 30 min meals and have used very few recipes. they take much longer than 30 mins and yes, use a lot of ingredients that I cannot get hold of.
Jack is very cute, no doubt about that!
I too have finally broken a number on the scale – after 8 months so am very happy.
and try baking in this heat – so not fun!
Jack IS cute Laura. Everytime you post a photo of him he seems to just get cuter.
Well done on losing weight. I am also stuck on a number and it’s really bothering me!
This week we’ve just been battling the heat, we took a swim instead of a bath last night and tonight if it’s as hot as last night I’m going to get Don to blow up the double mattress and the kids can sleep in the lounge where we’ll leave the aircon on. It’s hectic.
PS. Looking forward to seeing the “invites” 🙂
I hope this doesn’t sound terribly creepy from a blog lurker, but I want to play with your little guy. He’s just so darn cute! Good luck with the older kids…I trust that it’ll get better in time.
Congratulations on the scale!! I’m so sorry to hear about your friends son – that is totally sucky and uncool, ESPECIALLY for a private school!! I’m hoping she’s not in KZN!!
Wow, that is terrible ( the bully thing). I think possibly Kiara is finding the exercises ” boring” because maybe they are hard for her? All the best with that. Ag and paintball is huge fun as long as they have the protective stuff on. Boys will be boys, guns will be there in the play variety
This week is better for me at home. The security is installed and I sleep again;-)
Your Jack is very cute and you should enjoy every moment with him because they grow up much to quickly.
I made peace with my scale…I walk between 40 and 60 min on my treadmill and I am not losing a gram…so this is possibly what I should weigh.
My sister’s son was horribly bullied, they made a huge thing of it and were not very popular…now he is in a private school and things are going better. I think most bullies have bully Dad’s.
Paintball is innocent fun…I was very against guns until my privacy was invaded twice in 6 weeks…now I want a gun 😉
okay, your boytjie is officially the cutest little oke EVER (besides Levi of course 😉 He had grown up so quickly.
I love paintball – it is so much fun!
I can’t believe that kid’s jaw got cracked and nothing is being done – that is unacceptable. 🙁
We could do with some rain, it really is beyond hot and it’s making it hard to sleep which isn’t helping either.
Laura, the blue books you talk about, is it the new Caps edition? If so, I rather like them. Love how they bring out the definitions of what is important in the work they learned that specific day.
You know what? I too get days where it feels as if I was ages ago in the gym. Just one of those days.
Super cute picture! Found you through Bloggy Moms.
With the current heat wave, I am not surprised you felt like that at the gym.
It’s so sad about the bully situation, I am surprised the parents didn’t take it any further. It is just not acceptable especially where violence is involved. I am actually very p’d off on behalf of the kid. The school and the bully’s parent should take responsibility and the bully should be suspended. Sorry I am going on and on about it, I detest violence and coming from such young kids makes me sad and wonder what kind of home environment the child is growing up in 🙁 🙁
Moving right along….
I wouldn’t get stuck on the number on the scale as long as you have lost cm. Sometimes as we get fitter, we build muscles which weigh the same as fat, so even though the scale is showing no difference, you should be loosing cm
PS: when is D’s birthday?
