photo (1) Today’s prompt was a picture of a heart. This is the material on a set of oven gloves David bought me – I love them :) A few random things for today to catch up.

  • How sad is this Oscar Pistorius story :( The details of this story really aren’t important. Someone lost their life and that is tragic. Two families lives have been altered and neither will ever be the same. Reaffirms my belief that guns should not exist.
  • Kiara’s teachers want to seem me. I kinda feel like the lamb heading for the slaughter to be honest. 5 teachers vs me – happy days!!!
  • David told me this morning to get my passport sorted for the honeymoon :) I wasn’t excited at all :-p
  • We have a marriage officer booked for the wedding – thanks to MeeA.
  • My reader is over full at the moment – I am not getting to blogs at the moment. Jack and I have been otherwise occupied in the day and I just don’t get to the PC at night.
  • Last night I lay on our bed while David bathed Jack and fell asleep around 18h30 and woke up at 4h38 this morning!!! Clearly my body needed the time out.
  • I still don’t have a washing machine – I am actually very zen about it. What option do I have? I am not getting myself all worked up over it all again.
  • I need vintage brown suitcases and birdcages for the wedding so if you see any anywhere then please let me know :)
  • I got spoilt this morning for Valentines Day – it really isn’t a huge thing for us so it was a nice surprise getting gifts.

How is your Thursday going? Do you and your partner celebrate Valentines Day?

  1. Good luck with meeting the teachers!
My Valentines was a pat on the knee and a “Happy Valentines Day” while we were driving to work.

  2. LOL at Cindy’s comment :)

y;essssss we celebrate Valentine’s! I’m going to write about it later because I swear, all you non-Valentiners are killing me!

I love that kind of sleep!!!

Yay to the marriage officer and the honeymoon and very sad about these two changed lives too!

  3. I too think this Oscar Pistorius thing is very very sad and just like you, I don’t like guns.
So glad your marriage officer situation is sorted now :) A bit less stress.

  4. Sorry about the washing machine and YAY about the marriage officer and the getting your passport!!!

The Oscar story just tells you about the horrors of the times and place we live in. It is just too sad.

I assume the bird cages are vintage cages too.

Thursday is going ok. I am not big on valentine’s day. We will do a nice dinner at home etc but nothing OTT, I would much rather get flowers on a random day in the year, than on Valentine’s day :-) But that is just me

  5. I’m so glad you guys are sorted with the marriage officer! :)

I don’t even know where to begin describing how sad I was to hear the news of Oscar Pistorius’ girlfriend. I cannot imagine the guilt and anguish he must be feeling. It also was a sharp reminder of the two fathers who shot and killed their own daughters in similar circumstances over the past year or two…

  6. The guy making basket stuf on the conrner of Charles and Duncan makes little wire birdcages – maybe a bit simpler than the rest but I am sure you can negotiate for cheaper especially is you do a few.

Gosh and the teachers thing sounds scary

  7. Ugh… Strongs for your teacher meeting. Don’t forget your notebook so you can minute the meeting and give them copies.
    I need new oven gloves…
