Monday – bad hair days!

Over all today has been productive. Jack was with his gran at a photo shoot so I was kid free until 15h30.

I managed to get the house cleaned, wax my underarms, go to gym, have my trial hair appointment, find 2 suitcases and something for the table numbers to go on, source items for a party I need to quote on and pop into the shops for a few groceries.

Now I am studying with Kiara – she is taking a meal break and I am taking advantage of the little break.

My awesome fiance took over studying duties this weekend because I had to work most of Saturday and Kiara had a maths assessment today. For the first time he realised what I battle daily with her. Saturday she knew the work they had done. Sunday during a quick revision – she knew none of it. She cried! I shed a silent tear for her and I think David also shed an internal tear!

She passed the test for which I am so incredibly happy about – she was upset because it was just a pass but we have celebrated :)

I have also mailed her therapist for assistance/guidance in how to make it easier for her because the thought of exams is making me very anxious.

Anyway moving on to my hair trial today. It was very nearly a disaster! I had pictures! I had all the accessories! What I didn’t have was the HAIR!!!

My hair is terrible. It is thin and straight and not long enough. AND it is falling out – badly!

So she curled it and got it half right but then NOTHING was working. We put it up/down/back/front – nothing. She decided we need extensions and would then try and do it again. Fine so she took it out and then did something and VOILA!!!!!!!! It worked and looked amazing!

We had both just about given up and then it happened and it was glorious!!!

Did you have a wedding hair trial? Did you know what you wanted? Or let the hair dresser decide?

  1. oh friend, wish I was there for this.

Ja, I had a hair trial, two days before the wedding.
they did it, it was all perfect and pretty and I said NO. lol. I want a roughed up look.. they got it right 2nd time. :)

  2. yay, so exciting!
yup, i had a trial, i knew what i wanted, and it all worked out :) my hair is the opposite to yours, by the sounds of it… mine is long(ish), thick, wavy… on the actual wedding day, i had about 50 bobby pins in and what felt like a litre of hairspray… took me 15 mins to take out all the clips, and i had to wash it twice to get it clean :p

  3. No trial. At that stage I had been with my hairdresser for years. I showed her a few pics of what I liked. She asked me about my dress and the accessories that I would be wearing and then told me that what I wanted wouldn’t work because of xyz (see how good she is?) and then, I told her to do what she thinks will work (because I do trust her – she knows her stuff) and it WORKED! I LOVED my wedding day hairstyle.
    And yay for Kiara!

  4. You have NO idea how I couldn’t have cared less about details; I just wanted to be MARRIED!

So I had nothing :) Def no hair trial!

I would also shed a tear for Kiara :) How do you keep it together?

  5. Ai, I shed a tear for Kiara! And you

Jip, trial hair although we just did a fancier version of what my hair generally looked like. And btw, my hair is falling out like mad at the moment. Had my iron tested and it’s fine – now have to look at the thyroid

  6. When I got married I just did it myself. I did go for a trial before and I hated it, so I decided to just keep it the way I usually wear it and that was that.
