A little piece of perfect heaven

The plan was not to blog but as we all know plans change :)

I am sitting in a very swanky complex where all the houses have to be white with green roofs near Villiersdorp. My boyfriend is downstairs playing basketball with his cousins and any other children who walk past and want to join in. I am looking out over a dam that is surround by mountains. Its beautiful. Its peaceful. Its a little bit of perfect.

I managed to keep my arrival a surprise until I was off the plan but when I saw David through the doors I had to phone and tell him :) He was well surprised – a little disappointed I think that Guy wasnt coming though.

We have had an awesome few days so far. Christmas eve dinner was at the Dagbreek Restaurant in Villiersdorp which is owned by Diaan Lawrenson (Paula from Sewende Laan) and her partner (who is also from Sewende Laan and those soccer ads with the coloured dude in the taxi). They are a lovely couple and dinner was lovely :)

Christmas day was super special for me. Very overwhelming though. David spoilt me – really I cant remember when last I received so may Christmas gifts – there was Hello Kitty pjs, a STUNNING bag, a beautiful sarong, a necklace and a bottle of Issey Miytake A Scent (a big bottle) but what was more overwhelming was the love in this house. This family loves and is loved. They laugh, they tease, they fight, they are silly but they love. I have not been around this kind of family in a very long time.

I feel very lucky to have been a part of it and understand now why David loves coming here as much as he does and why these people are so special to him. Even though I don’t have my children with me and miss them terribly I think it may have been my best Christmas ever.

I trust you are all having a wonderful time with those near and dear to you.
