yes Yes YES!
The 20h00 movie on MNET on Sunday night was Yes Man with Jim Carrey.
If you haven’t seen it the just of the story is Jim Carrey attends a seminar that will change his life – all he has to do is say “Yes” to everthing. His life changes over night (as it would if you had to agree to everything).
I never watched the whole movie but it got me thinking – what if we said yes to everything?
What if, when asked to go out by someone new, we did? What if when the kids said play with me, we did? What if when a colleague asked for help, we did? What if when we stopped at the robot, we agreed to buy a ID holder or coat hangers? What if, when a friend invited you out to go sky diving or cycling or to yoga, we did?
What would happen if we opened ourselves up to more?
Now I know my readers well enough to know a large portion of you are going to say “but its not practical” – so before you actually do say that – think about it.
I know agreeing to take the kids to Spur when you have R10 between you and payday is impossible but that doesn’t mean you have to say no.
Maybe today we should all try and see if we can say yes when asked a question.

I think what it boils down to is being open to what comes your way – embracing your life and not looking for excuses not to do things when you don’t feel like it.
