6 months
Today David and I have been together for 6 months.
It feels like a lot longer. It feels like he has been a part of our lives for years. It has been a rather large adjustment for me. I was single for 4 years before he arrived. The kids and I had gotten used to doing things on our own. We went where we wanted, with who we wanted and when we wanted. We didn’t have to consider anyone else. It was just us. 
So when suddenly this other person was in our little circle it was an adjustment for us all.
But 6 months later I can honestly say I could not be happier. Being a part of someone else is the most incredible feeling. Not only do I have a boyfriend and partner but I have a best friend.
It’s not always been easy – dating with kids is not for sissy’s but we talk and we argue and I cry and we work through it. Because thats what you do in a grown up relationship where you respect each other.
A thank you has to be said for the patience he has shown the last six months. There have been tantrums and freak out moments and fights for no reason but he has been patient, loving and understanding through it all.
There has also been lots of laughs and fun. Lots of happy moments and adventures. There has been lots of love, tenderness. There has been talks about our hopes and dreams.
It has been a good 6 months!

Congrats on the 6 months! That is awesome.
I’ve just gone past my 4 months relationship milestone after ending my marriage last year. It has been a big adjustment from us all.
