I didn’t do a word for 2016, not sure why but if I look back and had to chose one for the year it would be contradictory or something similar to that. I struggled with a word for 2017 but definitely wanted to have one so I kept going. Initially I liked achieve but when I was checking antonyms I found REALIZE and knew that was it.
It was the definition of realise that made me pick it over achieve, all of the below points are something I want to realise this year. There are so many things I want to make happen, and have wanted for years. I started some in 2016 but this year is the year to really turn them into what I want them to be.
The third one was also very relevant me “give actual or physical form to” – I want to focus this year on making dreams, goals and wish lists a reality and stop sitting and saying into the air “I wish this or that” but doing very little to make them actually happen.
Related in some ways to my word are two new projects I am working on this year, for me (well, you guys will also benefit from the one).
The first is my #52weeksofbeauty series that started last week. I have shied away from make up my entire life because I thought it was too hard to do, the products were too expensive and maybe because I am a little lazy but last year I discovered some really incredible products including some I now use daily and have seen such a huge improvement in my skin. So I want to share them with you all. I am very excited about this series and hopefully by the end of the year I will able to finally apply eye liner properly.
The second is the #300photosofme challenge. David doesn’t believe I can complete this, which has made me want to do it even more. The motivation behind this was to get more comfortable taking and having photos taken of me and to get more pics of me and the kids. So I am going to aim for 300 photos of me this year. I purposefully didn’t make it 365 days because I knew that would be too much pressure. There is still time if you want to also do it? There are no rules, just snap a pic of you on your own or with your kids/partner.
What is your word for 2017? I would love it if you shared it with me.
