When David and I went on honeymoon we chose an all inclusive package with the resort we stayed at and it was perfect! We didn’t have to worry about keeping track of bar bills or food bills or about getting unexpected items charged to our account. It was all paid for before we arrived. I would definitely consider an all inclusive ClubMed package when booking an family holiday, it makes budgeting so much easier.
I chatted to ClubMed’s marketing manager Lesego and asked her a few questions about these packages, specifically in relation to family holidays.
- Let’s start at the beginning, what does “All inclusive mean”?
Club Med are pioneers of the all-inclusive concept for over 60 years, and have mastered the art of creating exceptional and care free holidays. Enjoying everything with no worries, trying out all activities, holidaying with the peace of mind that a controlled budget brings. All inclusive covers every detail, with no hidden costs. From departure, accommodation, seamless travel, decadent meals, generous open- bar and snacking, and kids clubs. Childcare is another big ticket offering, with over 40 years of experience in child care – our Kids Clubs offer world class care and the opportunity for your kids to interact with children from different cultures around the world.
- Why should families opt for the “all inclusive” packages over the normal ones?
Club Med resorts allow you access to the best overall holiday experience enjoyed in style. We offer the best in unlimited food and beverage. This allows you quite a bit of saving when you consider that dinner for one without drinks in France will cost you about R646. Each resort has a Chef de Village that oversees a team of professionals called GOs (Gentils Organisateurs) that are at your service at every step of your trip. Choosing all-inclusive means choosing an option where everything is taken care of and organised for you without the hassle. It means choosing an option that saves you time and money. Club Med takes over the checklists with just one phone call. It is a paradise for families travelling with kids, the Kids Clubs ensures an environment of fun, discover and creativity with Kids Clubs from 4* Months to 17 years, with activities that are designed for every age group.
Also, when you book a Club Med holiday you enjoy the perks of a set exchange rate which allows great security in today’s volatile economy. Club Med also offers an Early Booking Bonus (EBB) savings which means the more in advance you book, the more you save. If you book 6 months in advance for example you receive 15% off, if you book 3 months in advance you will receive 10% off. In addition to this there are various last minute deals and sales through the year.
- Are activities for the kids included in the all-inclusive packages?
Yes, as mentioned in the previous questions, all kids’ activities are included too. Most Club Med resorts host something called Kids Clubs, where our GOs are there to look after and entertain your kids all day long. They get the chance to play with other kids and participate in awesome activities.
- Is it clearly stated what is not included? So there are no surprises at the end of the trip because it was unclear as to what was included and what not!
A lot of customers like to be flexible, for example we don’t include ski and boot hire because we have some clients that prefer to travel with their own equipment. So because we have seen this trend, it made sense to exclude that aspect. But, for those clients that prefer to book separately, we will make a plan to organise it for them. These conditions are clearly stated on all our communication, so our clients are aware from the beginning when they decide to book.
- Do all Club Med resorts have the all-inclusive option for families?
All the resorts are family friendly, but not all have the Kids Clubs. This just means that there will not be the GOs to look after them, and entertain them. This doesn’t take away from the rest of the all-inclusive package.
