I am going to be honest here, I find buying kids clothes stressful. Kids grow incredibly fast, like you will wake up one morning and suddenly your child is too small for every single item in their cupboard. Not all kids clothes are created equal either, a size 3-4 from one shop may fit your 3 year old perfectly but buy it from the shop next door and you will question the label because it will either be too small or way too big. Trying to find plain clothes is also incredibly challenging, sometimes you just want a t-shirt or a plain pair of shorts.
I now stick to what I know and buy their clothes from the same shops, because I know the sizes and know I will more often than not find what we need. (I am excluding Cameron in this because he takes shopping to a whole new level).
On a budget
Pick n Pay have a beautiful range of clothes. They always have plain t-shirts, which invariable they need for school at some point. They have the biggest selection of tights for Kiara and Emma in a fabric that Kiara likes. Their boys shirts always have some or other super hero on which is pretty much all that Jack wears.
Pep is my go to for once off items (like jeans for a dance for Kiara) but they often have nice specials on. Kiara often finds shirts at Pep and they have some nice boys shirts. They also have a pretty big range of shoes at reasonable prices.
Jet has always been on my radar but I have been shopping there more and more recently, more for the girls. There new store in Menlyn is huge and has a great pre-teen range.
Cotton On has some gorgeous clothes, they are a little bit out of my price range but we do have the Cotton On factory shop near us so I often pop in there and get some things for the kids there. There clothes do last really well so are actually worth the price tag. There older boy range is a little lacking though.
Naartjie is one of my favourites for baby stuff. Jack had a lot of Naartjie outfits (thanks to Granny) and I handed them all on to friends because they wash well and last for ages. If you keep a look out for their sales you can get some nice bargains.
Schnooky Pie is a great online store if you are looking for some funky baby and toddler clothes. They are great if you need a baby shower gift and want it delivered directly to the mom.
Baby Group is another one of my favourites. They have a variety of brands to choose from. It is mainly for babies, I use it a lot for baby shower gifts.
BluBelle have some of the most gorgeous clothes. I am sharing more on Wednesday but they really have the cutest clothes and they are a great quality. But the winner at BluBelle has to be their shoes, Emma has two pairs and she wears one pair every single day.
What are some of your favourite shops to buy your kids clothes from? Tween parents I am particularly interested in what works for you guys.
