I have no idea where September went! It was here and then it wasn’t! There is a pile of stuff sitting on my desk that I haven’t gotten around to blogging about so I thought I would do a quick round up of products, events and other stuff I think you should know!
I attended a really lovely event with Unilever where we learnt more about the #tweetforatree campaign. There was some politics behind this campaign as their always appears to be when big corporates are involved but I loved this initiative. Basically Unilever are trying to make some sustainable changes to the environment by planting trees and working with partners who are planting more trees. What I really liked about this though was that it is not simple Unilever throwing money at an initiative, the projects work with very rural communities and empower the communities to grow the trees and then use them to barter with, so they are uplifting communities while growing the trees. I love projects like this (like the 5by20 one Coke has). Basically the #tweetforatree campaign was aimed at raising awareness so for every tweet made a tree was pledged with the aim of getting to 1000 000 tweets/trees BUT Unilever committed to planting the trees regardless of the number of tweets made!
I received this AmiPur blog drop – it contained a roll of toilet paper (and a few other things). I did have to laugh. The glamorous life of blog drops containing toilet paper, this is not the first one I have received with toilet paper. There was a little gem in this blog drop though. A car air freshener. I have never bought one of these because I have never really felt they are a necessity and I am pretty sensitive to smells but this little device has changed my life. With four kids in the car including a baby, a teen boy and a tween, there are some funky smells happening in the car but now it smells like roses and happiness!
David and I attended the Taste of Joburg last week and we had the best time. We went last year as well but I don’t remember it being as much fun. We interacted with the stall owners and started conversations with random people, bumped into some of his friends and Christel. We ate, drank and were merry. It really was such a great afternoon.
I recently contributed to an article for Hippo about AirBnB – if you don’t know what it is, you must check it out. I am using it to find us a place to stay in December. Read the article, it explains it all.
It is not secret I love Cotton On. It is one of the few brands that Kiara wears and that fit her nicely. They have a stunning new baby range in their stores and the cutest little costumes! Their clothes are well worth the price you pay!
Also please can you sign up to my newsletter, I promise I won’t spam you 🙂

Lovely little round up. I loved the humour in the Ambi pur drop. I got this weird mail with tickets about Taste of Joburg that I apparently won – but we had no baby sitters. Maybe it was a hint to go and blog
cat@jugglingact recently posted…The 25th of September is not a great day in the history books
LOL I got tickets like that last year Cat – this years ones were better 🙂
