It had to happen

On saturday I took my kids to watch their school play soccer. The kids got merits if they turned up to support the bigger kids!

I am all for team spirit so off we went.

End of the day we are walking out and one of the coaches from the one of the other schools stops me. Now let me set the scene. He stops me slap bang in the middle of the spectators. So we are in full view of all the parents and about 5 steps from the principle of our school, Camerons teacher and Kiaras head of department. RIGHT!

So he says “I know you”
Me “oh ok then” and I keep walking cos well I was tired and not up for crap come on lines
Him (said loudly cos I had now walked off a little) “we chatted on Facebook”
Me (now the colour gone from my face) “um really? oh ok then”

And I high tailed it out of there before any more could be said on that!!!!!!

I have no recollection of this man. NONE! So I know we never met. There was a stage (my date anything stage) where I was talking to alot of guys online. ALOT!

So this was inevitable but WHY did it have to happen at a SCHOOL FUNCTION? WHY?

My kids go to a Christian based school and the 2 other competing schools all have “christian school” in their name! So really brining out my sordid online love life is NOT something I want to be doing!

The really fun thing is that my son has just entered the world of school soccer so I have countless more games to attend where this dude will be! YAY! What fun!

LOL if it makes you feel any better, it doesn’t look very good for him either 😉

Hmmm i can see why he didn’t get much more than a glance the first time around. Not much decorum nor tact there.

Wonder if he knows any farmers 😉

I agree, his choice of situation wasn’t great! And don’t panic – i think we’ve all done a bit too much flirting chatting in our newly single days!

Ha! Sounds a little akward. 😉

Where was his brain? Anyone with sense knows you don’t walk up to a woman/man you chatted with online and say “I know you.” And you definitely don’t do it in front of her kids and/at her kids’ school.

    Him: I know you.
Me: Yeah, I know you too. You’re the idiot who doesn’t know when to be quiet.

OK, maybe that conversation would only happen in my head, but you get the point.

Ha! Time to invest in a disguise 🙂

I wouldn’t worry too much. I don’t think trying to date is “sordid”. I’ve run into online people in real life a few times. I bet this won’t even come up again.

Hey – cool soccer tournament in S.Africa right now. We watched Italy on TV. Bummed they are out of that tourney!!

    Oh girl… AWKWARD!!!

Yeah, you may have to put him in his place next time…

I figure your only way out is to say…oh yeah that night i was having a bad day, finished off a bottle of fine wine and chatted it up with some random strangers…
Then it will be HIS turn to feel awkward as he was apparantly sober enough to remember you 😛

    OMG thats dreadful!
Maybe you could take him aside when you see him again and tell him to drop it?
