Teething….it STILL sucks

Kiara was the only one of my children who teethed “easily”. I think all her teeth just popped out overnight. The boys were particularly rough, Cameron especially made us all work really hard for his set of pearly’s.  Teething is one of the most frustrating things a parent has to deal with because they go through such pain only to have all those teeth fall out. Baby R is teething at the moment and it is not pretty. The poor kid drools non stop and is constantly rubbing something on his gums. He is getting about 4, all at the same time, poor kid.

Obviously pain meds can help but you can’t really keep giving them indefinitely, so this is what is working for Baby R at the moment.

A toothbrush. This honestly seems to be working the best and he is never without his toothbrush. He rubs and chews on it all the time. It clearly offers him a lot of relief. We are going through them at a rapid rate because he also likes using them to shove in the sand or dip in Lucy’s water bowl.

Hey Baby teething biscuits. These really do help and he points to them when I open the cupboard. I LOVE that these don’t all go mushy and gross like a lot of the teething biscuits we have tried.Teething|HarassedMom

Teething bead bracelet. David laughed at me when I bought this with Emma. Emma obviously paid no attention to them but Baby R chomps on them constantly. I don’t wear them anymore because he is that attached to them and they now have enough drool on the elastic to make them rather uncomfortable to wear.

Hopefully for his sake the current lot of teeth pop through quickly!!

What helps (or helped) your little one survive teething?

We used I think it’s called borion for our little teether this time. It’s funny because some babies seem to get it much worse than others.

What kind of teething biscuits do you use? My daughter LOVES them but the kind we have are super messy. I also use a mesh feeder and freeze breastmilk ice cubes or baby food ice cubes. That is my go-to when nothing else works. I also have a finger toothbrush that I use to massage her gums twice a day, but I need to get her one of those banana toothbrushes!

I never thought about a baby toothbrush while teething! So glad I read your post. I will be trying this!
