This is a completely indulgent post but I thought it might be fun to put together a Valentine’s Day Destination Bucket List. These are places I have been or want to go to, but without kids, just David and I.
Zanzibar will always be on my list of places to go, I would love to take the kids one day as well. It is where we had our honeymoon and I fell head over heels in love with everything about this country. It is so incredibly beautiful and there is so much to do and see. If ever I was to build a holiday home, it would be in Zanzibar.
Bora Bora. I saw a video on Facebook advertising this island and it looked like the dream destination for couples. When I did some more research, this island is definitely one of those that you go away to, switch your phone off and just do absolutely nothing except lie on the beach drinking cocktails.
Giraffe Manor. If you have been following me for a while you will know, Kenya is one of my bucket list destinations so when I saw the Giraffe Manor on the Luxe Family 5, I knew it had to go on my list. I know this place is kid-friendly but I think it would make a stunning couples getaway.
Tiger Blue is my plan for my 50th birthday. It is a boat that sails through the oceans of North Indonesia and looks like a little piece of paradise. You can book the whole boat or just a cabin and the length of your trip also varies but honestly I think I would be happy to cruise around on the Tiger Blue indefinitely.
And for something completely different to all of these, I think Austria would also make for a romantic getaway in the snow. To be honest, Europe in general hasn’t ever held much appeal for me but I do think I could enjoy a week away in a cabin in Austria, snowed in with no cell phone signal.
There are so many stunning places to visit all over the world and right here in South Africa.
